Keeping it cool and schmoozy is The Blues Kitchen Brixton. A restaurant, entertainment venue and club all wrapped into one, this is the only place you need to know about in the trendiest borough south of the river.
And seeing as they're named after one of the smoothest eras in music history, they're also taking diners back down memory lane with an art deco-inspired restaurant. Glossy leather booths are lined in neat formation, much like an American diner, whilst stained glass lanterns hang from the ceiling and are propped elegantly on tables. Everywhere you look, there are splashes of personality, from the fun-coloured tiles to the sparkly bar that speaks to every nostalgic bone in our body and the bustling courtyard out back.
As for the menu, they're taking inspiration from the diners of the USA, serving up some of the best comfort food known to man. From hot chicken buffalo sandwiches to St Louis pork rib, brisket dip sandwiches, cornbread and mac 'n' cheese, there's nothing quite like these feasts after a long day in the capital.
Of course, no American menu is complete without a burger or four. Armed with the bacon double smash burger, vegan cheeseburger and buttermilk shrimp sandwich, there's no stopping you from going all in without cutlery and maybe making a bit of a mess in the process. But not to worry - with a Camden Hells in your hand dancing to some live music, you won't feel blue for long!
