Teal Monkey

Judging by their name itself, you already know that Teal Monkey is putting a spin on the things we’re familiar with. There’s no monkey business, however, when it comes to culinary goodness.

As you can probably imagine, their restaurant is playful and appeals to curious minds. A chic combination of gastro pub fittings and contemporary design and a forest’s worth of plants, Teal Monkey is a playground for the senses and a very stylish place designed for socialising.

So, let’s get stuck in for some comfort eats that make good use of Ireland’s native fare. To begin, fresh scallops are roasted and given a bold new feel with a fiery garlic puree whilst Carlingford mussels are doused with a white wine cream and lemon gremolata.

Mains press all the right buttons with a conclusive tour of popular eats from around the world. The star of the show has to be the braised short rib with indulgent truffle mac & cheese; the richness of both halves works well with a refreshing cocktail on the side. Alternatively, those who love Italian cuisine will be overjoyed with the linguine puttanesca and those who can’t resist Asian flavours will have fun with the tempura seabass.
