The home of Tropical Muffin Wednesday, Baked in Brick, has been winning hearts all year round since it took up residency in a former bank.
Start with a blank canvas, because it’s really your choice how you pace this epic tasting journey. Maybe you fancy a few courses of honesty from the street food version of the Brum’s best sandwich award winner – a feta, roast pepper and rocket wrap that lives up to the highest expectations. There’s something cheeky and decadent about Baked in Brick, that’s certain. Take the crispy garlic bread option – a treat even the strictest dieters could be swayed with.
The individual monikered dishes are worth ordering for the surprise value. Not many would order ‘leg it lads’ without knowing it refers to the BBQ chicken option, but it might be a happy accident once the plate arrives with a steaming tempura. Pizzas are 72-hour artisan dough. The parmesan topping with balsamic reduction is not a bad shout, as is the mutton and mint idea that's taken Vivaanta’s popularity.
What’s certain is when it turns to pudding, you might need a helping steer to navigate the sticky toffee and chocolate orange options. The cookie dough calzone with a scoop of ice cream was brewed by the wonderful Lee Desanges from house-made dough. She’s your girl.
