No No Please showcases a bold and vibrant menu of contemporary Asian cuisine, drawing inspiration from Singapore to Sydney, all within a distinctly urban Australian atmosphere—the vibe you'd expect from your favourite pub, with the service you only find at the best restaurants.
Living up to its playful name, No No Please defies convention with inventive small plates. Traditional Thai dishes, like larb rolls of minced spiced chicken, shatter upon biting into the fried pastry. Prawn toasts are reinvented as three "Mars Bar" sized sesame-covered fingers dipped into a jammy cured egg yolk.
The daily specials board allows other influences, such as a giant arancini rice ball filled with white and brown crab meat or crispy squid with hay-smoked black garlic mayonnaise. Their 12-hour cooked beef cheek curry falls apart to the touch and is delicious with confit garlic rice. With cooking naturally using coconut milk and creams, there is plenty for vegan and vegetarian diners, including moreish fritters of fried root vegetables on vegan mayo with sweet tamarind.
A menu this unique calls for an equally striking drinks selection. The small team makes cocktails in-house with rum punch, which is milk-washed to be smooth and rich. There's also Lapsang tea that infuses the Campari in the house Negroni for a smoky note, and jasmine tea is mixed with vodka and homemade plum syrup for the light, sweet, and strong Heaven's Sake.
With such an array of temptations, there’s every reason to step into their buzzing dining room, settle at a table, or flop onto the sofa. Playful, welcoming, and your four-legged friends are just as invited.
