They're back! And they're better than ever with a brand-new bar and a whole host of new Japanese-inspired cocktails. This is Nomu.
Having closed for a wee while to accommodate a moderate transformation project, Nomu is back in action again and welcoming diners to their Japanese bistro. Painted a pleasing shade of pastel pink, it's light and modern. Like something from a Pinterest theme board, summery colours are accentuated with brilliant potted greens, contemporary lanterns and even a skylight that floods Nomu with natural light throughout the day. And thanks to their long picnic tables, the focus here is very much on the community.
What a relief, then, that their menu is focused on sharing. Compose your own supper with a delicious selection of Japanese tapas, decorate your table with meat or vegetarian Japanese dumplings, chow down on crab claw coated in breadcrumbs or indulge in the ultimate Japanese street food, takoyaki. These devilish balls are filled with octopus meat, fried and drizzled with the most morish tonkatsu sauce and Japanese mayo.
If you'd prefer your own plate, nothing warms the soul quite like a chicken katsu curry or some stir-fried udon noodles. And if you're feeling particularly adventurous, indulge in another Japanese specialty with a rice bowl topped with marinated eel. Finally, nothing says a Japanese supper like washing it down with a piping hot miso soup.
Welcome back, Nomu. We're glad you're back.
