If you are not yet acquainted with Nikkei cuisine, allow us to make the introduction. A unique blend of Japanese and Peruvian culinary traditions, Chotto Matte is opening up our eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.

But before we get to the menu, we must first address the showstopper that is the restaurant itself. Designed with understated elegance in mind, Chotto Matte models itself in part on the wooden structures that make Japanese buildings so special, creating an art gallery feel with curved wooden walls and perfectly symmetrical slats over the floor-to-ceiling windows. Come the evening, the illuminated art comes to life, making Chotto Matte a playground for the senses.

Now that the pure brilliance of the space has been addressed, we can get to the food. All dishes are created to match the brand's sharing concept, and are equally delicious as they are diverse. Where else would you find Argentinian red prawn truffle or wagyu beef gyoza this side of the world? You can even pair these delights with Chotto's deluxe sashimi and nigiri, both of which are dressed to impress.

The bigger plates hone down on the Robata grill. Using meat only from Jack Creek, the leading company in Australian premium beef, their fillets, sirloins, ribeyes and tomahawks have to be tasted to be believed. You can also have some fresh seafood thrown onto the grill too, as well as vegetable dishes that include king oyster tostadas, aubergine miso and Peruvian corn.

Japan and Peru might be thousands of miles apart, but they meet in the middle with a unique and unforgettable culinary journey.
