Attracting multitudes of looks from passers-by, Crispin's dramatic slanted roof, pristine courtyard and urban surroundings boasts that contemporary precision that wouldn't be out of place in an art gallery. Like a mini-Louvre, Crispin stands proud in edgy Spitalfields. And yet, despite appearances, it's very homely. Scandi-style furnishings and a friendly, exposed kitchen pervade its pointed interior.

Specialising in incredible coffee, global wines and European food, this is sophisticated gastronomy in a wonderfully unique setting. To begin, tickle the appetite with some snack-sized nibbles. From burrata with crunchy asparagus and tarragon, brill Crudo and anchovy & potato focaccia. Crispin combines exclusive ingredients with unlikely ingredients. It's mesmerising every time.

The bigger plates are well-considered and take modern cooking to a new level. The greenest pea and mint ravioli paired with the sweet smokiness of burnt onion, whilst the pork sando comes with a lively salsa verde and crunchy homemade slaw. But there's something missing... a stellar glass of red perhaps? Or a crisp white? It's what they do best.
