Have you ever come across a place that stops you in your tracks? If not, you'll find such a spot in South West London's dining scene. The eatery is warm and dimly lit. Couples in woolly scarves and polished boots gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes from across candlelit tables. There's a soft bustle of background conversations and the clinking of glasses. Yes, it's The Farmers Mistress, that dreamy spot in Battersea.
Dinner-wise, it's all incredible: think produce, slow-cooked to perfection, meticulously paired with bright, imaginative accompaniments. Fantastic for veggie lovers, fishermen and meat-eaters alike, but take a chunk of that Suffolk chorizo, too. Brunches are something of an institution at The Farmers Mistress, and rightly so. Sample an array of locally-sourced charcuterie, cheese, and vegetables. Don't get us started on their type (and pour your own) deal.
With ethics firmly on the menu, The Farmers Mistress uses seasonal, British produce from farms and sea in their dishes. Therefore, expect them to rotate their menu around the best that the country has to offer. They believe that better produce leads to better results on the plate. No argument here.
