It's not every day you happen upon an authentic Burmese restaurant. Especially none so fair as Lahpet. With that in mind, welcome to the West End's most specialist restaurant yet.

A vision of splendour inside and out, Lahpet fits right in with the glamour of London's most famous district. Contemporary yet elegant, Lahpet greets guests with a magnificent courtyard punctuated by beautiful stone pillars and dramatic light features that only precede the opulence that awaits for you inside. Taking all the features of a relaxed café or bistro, Lahpet upgrades this inviting setup with beautiful slate floors, geometric lighting, preened leafy bowers and a stunning marble-topped bar, thereby creating a breezy space which is still decadent at the same time.

If you're not sure what Burmese cuisine looks like, allow us to give you an idea. Warming and nutritious, Lahpet's menu is comprised, first, of small plates that serve up delicious grilled skewers, crispy tofu fritters and yellow pea paratha. If you wish to retain your appetite, all their stunning salads combine bold flavours like pickled ginger, coriander and pickled tea with fried black beans, peanuts and juicy tomatoes.

The mains are built up of comforting curries, fresh seafood and signature bowls. The pork belly and bamboo curry is a real highlight, packing in unbelievable amounts of flavour with fermented soy beans, superbly marinated pork and chilli. Then you have the hake masala, fried bream and king prawn curry, all of which keep you guessing about which spice you'll discover next. As for the bowls, sip and slurp away with the fish noodle soup or tofu rice noodle soup. And if you weren't aware of Burmese food, then the Burmese Boulevard and Turmeric Sour cocktails will open a brand new perspective within your culinary horizons.
