In a busy corner of lively Covent Garden sits Oorja, a vibrant Indian restaurant. Oorja is founded by Gobind Chona, a restaurateur immersed in his heritage. Much like India itself, the restaurant covers a wide range of dining options – from sharing small plates and current-favourite street chaats to sumptous regional curries. Here, each dish is inspired by recipes of family kitchens across India and the rich abundance of Indian spice. Oorja in Hindi means ‘energy’ -When you and friends step in to Oorja, you’ll feel that timeless Indian energy that brings people together.
The restaurant's interior spans two stories with a fully stocked bar and elegant terracotta panelling downstairs and a discreet dining area upstairs, complete with a majestically large cutlery artwork hanging above.
You can choose from their selection of Indian inspired cocktails to goes with your meal or you can start with a Golu soda with your meal. Worth trying, too, is Oorja's Sunday Roast.
