The Holly Bush

If Hampstead wasn't idyllic enough, head to The Holly Bush for a plate of comforting food.

They have something for everyone's tastes as well as a popular children's menu and not forgetting their famous Sunday roasts, the perfect way to end the weekend.

It's a slice of history in this quaint London suburb; it's modern, white interior is deceptive! Step inside and you are faced with a beautiful old oak bar which is a shrine to booze, decked with old clocks, lamps with a coffee room to the side. Then travel up the stairs in their Romney room which has magnificent drapes, oak chairs and tables with five Georgian windows and a working fireplace which is open for dining on busy days as well as the space for private events.

Indulge in their hearty plates that include melt-in-the-mouth sirloin steaks, Cote de Boeuf with a rich peppercorn sauce and homemade chicken and leek pie. It certainly won't leave you hungry! Vegetarians will love the mushroom gnocchi and the refreshing pea and broad bean salad for vegans.

And if you're not busy taking pictures of the bar, bask in their incredible range of beers on tap, from London Pride to Cornish Orchards. Feel free to choose a bottle of wine from their cellar selection which is perfect with their British cheese board with homemade chutney or a charcuterie board.
