A picturesque central European export bringing colour and pop to Notting Hill, The Tin Shed is giving deli-fuelled vacation vibes in one of London's prettiest boroughs.
It's hard to resist the blue and orange candy-striped canopy out front; it simply implores you to come in for a homemade meal with a stellar bottle of wine alongside. Inside, it very much has a neighbourhood bistro feel to it with its focus on highlighting seasonal ingredients, quaint little corners where you can catch up with old friends, and a bar that's packed with freshly baked goodies and specially chosen wines from all over the world. Despite its name, The Tin Shed promises soft and comfortable textures, soul food and warm and bubbly company.
One can hardly choose a more appropriate spot for brunch, and the menu certainly won't disappoint. Shakshuka eggs grace the menu, as well as creamy chestnut mushrooms atop sourdough, and pancakes layered with rhubarb compote. As for lunchy bits, the Casio e Pepe risotto with pangrattato, hake chowder and pink peppercorn, pear and scorched goat's cheese salad are everything you would want for a delicious winter bite.
The weekly changing dinner menu keeps things very simple with just two options for mains and one option for starter and pudding. Without giving too much away, expect fine Scottish seafood graced by seasonal ingredients, root vegetables are given a new lease of life, and a devilishly decadent pudding that is as chocolatey as they come.
