Scott Hallsworth, the culinary legend behind Nobu, is back with a dazzling new restaurant in London's Parsons Green.

The Freak Scene goes beyond being a mere restaurant - it’s an experience that encourages you to indulge in its diverse offerings and eclectic atmosphere. As soon as you step in, you'll be greeted by the vibrant purples that suffuse the venue. The atmosphere is cosy yet lively, with a warm dining area, two private dining rooms, and quirky décor. Let’s not forget the vibrant bar serving up signature cocktails with a Japanese twist, and a wide selection of Japanese sake, carefully curated to complement the flavours of the dishes on the Asian-inspired menu.

The menu at The Freak Scene offers diners a distinctive array of Asian fusion small plates, ideal for sharing, sampling and trying new things. The cold, raw and sushi section features Singapore chilli crab wonton bombs with a spicy kick and the signature tuna sashimi 'pizza' is a must-try dish, topped with wasabi tobiko and truffle ponzu. For a more adventurous option, try the Yellowtail sashimi with tosazu, kaffir lime, and pickled chillies.

If chilled and raw doesn't suit your taste buds, the tom yum rice hot pot or the hokkaido roasted scallops with tamarind ginger butter should! For something meaty, you can't go past the beef fillet tataki or the miso-yaki black cod tacos with scorched re chilli salsa.

The vegetarian selection rivals their meaty counterparts, with unique options like Jerusalem artichoke chopsticks with a truffle ponzu dip, grilled hispi cabbage with dried miso, ponzu, nut-brown butter, and truffle, and nasu dengaku, a miso-grilled aubergine with Sancho pepper and caramelised walnuts.

So if you want to shake things up, head to The Freak Scene and embrace the madness. Just remember, if you start seeing purple unicorns after a few too many sake cocktails, it's not the food's fault! With Scott Hallsworth's culinary expertise and a dining experience that's as quirky as it is delicious, The Freak Scene is the perfect spot to satisfy your cravings for bold Asian fusion cuisine and a good time.
