A meal at this much-loved restaurant will leave you with that warm fuzzy feeling and a stomach full of home-cooked Italian favourites.

Located in a farmhouse dating back to 1776 that turned into a thimble maker and eventually Locanta in 2004, hanging baskets that frame the door set the tone for the snug dining room, which has a colourful mural at one end.

Menus are made of traditional comfort food, just like nonna used to make. Start with a fresh, flavoursome bruschetta before moving on to thin-crust pizza, king prawn risotto or a classic spag bol. There is also a dedicated kids menu for little ones.

Wines are well priced and easy-drinking, while super traditional desserts cooked to perfection ensure you end your meal on a sugar high.

The tiramisu has a cult following amongst regulars - of which there are understandably many!
