Located a few minutes' drive from Solihull and Warwick, this little nook in the Midlands boasts vast expanses of green, pretty gardens and plenty of castles to explore. After a day doing that, you'll want a tasty supper at Kingswood.
Leave the stresses of modern-day life far behind in favour of old-school glamour. Taking diners back to a far simpler time, Nuthurst Grange's historic building sets the scene for its intimate and elegant restaurant. Designed much like a living room with soft textures, stag heads and renovated fireplaces, the concept affords the whole place a welcoming and familiar feel whilst also dialling up the sense of occasion with pristine white tablecloths hosting romantic rose petals and Art Deco lamps.
British excellence comes in many forms at this venue, and that includes food. Elegant yet hearty, the starters consist of bold flavours like chicken liver parfait, smoked haddock and a devilishly purple tart tatin. Exclusivity is on the menu too in the form of a seared pigeon breast with nutty cous cous and a creamy pumpkin puree.
As for mains, we look to British farms for the duo of beef that features a fillet and slow braised blade cooked so perfectly that they almost melt in the mouth with the help of decadent dauphinoise potatoes. Roast duck breast is also dressed to the nines with a Madeira jus and woodfired chestnuts; an autumnal treat if ever there was one! Finally, seafood lovers won't be able to resist a delicate fillet of halibut or seabream. As it turns out, British waters provide a great deal too.
