A traditional pub that always knows how to make a statement, Coach and Horses is a family-run establishment that takes pride and place in the centre of the Clifton community. Cosy with an irresistible hint of luxury, this is not your standard local.
Even upon arrival, one is struck by the magnificent, historic building that C&H calls home. Inside it's just as impressive with a smart and polished look. Buffed upholstery and glossy booths coax you over for a comfortable yet glamorous evening. Like any traditional pub, it has heaps of cosy corners for more intimate suppers, as well as open-plan dining, a dazzling conservatory and plenty of board games to keep you occupied before and after dinner!
And whilst they might have all the comfortable (albeit upmarket) trappings of a classic British pub, they're not afraid to push the boat out when it comes to the food. For starters, indulge in anything from grilled peri peri prawns to vegan beetroot steak and salt and pepper whitebait. You'll find that C&H's innovation is wonderfully delicious every time.
For mains Cornwall is delivering the goods with a fish chowder brimming with smoked haddock, prawns, potatoes and vegetables, all served in a lusciously creamy sauce. Apart from that, you can get your hands sticky with a towering beef or vegan burger, or keep it classic with good ol' fish and chips. And with a vegan counterpart too that replaces fish with nori-wrapped tofu, everyone is well looked after in C&H's neck of the woods, right down to the very last bite of tiramisu or sticky toffee pudding.
