The hidden ingredient behind some of the world's cosiest food and drink, nutmeg is a spice to be reckoned with. The same goes for Nutmeg Street Kitchen which is putting a gastronomic spin on Indian street food.
With Michelin-trained star chef Shishir Sinha at the helm, this eatery is taking Bristol city centre by storm with a unique menu and a bustling atmosphere that perfectly mimics food stalls in India. Quietly glamorous with playful neon lights and communal dining styles to soften the whole look, Nutmeg is a bit of everything and is the perfect choice for any occasion. Wait, are we still talking about the restaurant or the spice..?
Anyhow, back to the restaurant and their menu is about to open your eyes to an undiscovered world of Indian street food. We're heading far north for pao and momos which are typical Nepalese dumplings that are lovingly filled with marinated meats and vegetables. You can't move for momos in New Delhi! Moving on the tandoor is playing a big role in Nutmeg's selection of smoked and grilled goodies which encompass kebabs, fresh seafood and spiced chicken.
They're also coming forward with their own specialties, of which they're very proud. Presenting their own interpretation of bhuna gosht, malai paneer and butter chicken, Nutmeg presents these recognisable dishes with such flare, you almost don't want to eat it for fear of ruining it! However, if you wait long enough for a Taste of Kashmir cocktail, you'll have all the confidence you need to tuck right in!
