Not only do they treat diners to a rustic yet modern interior that enjoys beautiful original features set against a slick, contemporary renovation, but diners also have the grounds to discover. With informal picnic benches soaking up the sun in the back garden, as well as greenhouses and flower gardens that should interest the green-fingered amongst you, Congressbury Arms soothes and consoles with a healthy dose of nature and some of the best food Bristol has to offer.

And that's no overstatement. Indeed, they have 2 AA Rosettes for their restaurant and a 4 Gold Star Inn Award for their hotel. So, you can just imagine the goodies that are on the menu for lunch. Delving into the best of local produce, the lunch menu is turning out a beetroot risotto with goats' cheese, cider battered fish and chips, a rare roast bavette with divine blue cheese butter and a range of upmarket sandwiches and burgers with seasonal sides.

The dinner menu serves a lot of the same dishes from the lunch menu, but with the addition of a BBQ Korean beef short rib and a hearty fish pie with buttered greens. At Congressbury Arms, comforting nosh never looked so good.
