Bristol's answer to authentic sourdough Neapolitan pizza since 2016. Situated in the old jail stables at Wapping Wharf.
'Who is Bertha?' you may ask. Allow us to introduce you to the majestic pizza oven at the heart of everything, the one responsible for unforgettable suppers and molten-hot, foldable pizzas with big airy crusts that will inevitably brighten your evening. Their two-storied restaurant, with outside seating in the summer, is the perfect spot for lively rendezvous and friendly gatherings.
So, what is she serving up on an evening? Expect pizzas topped with mozzarella from Chew Valley, how local is that?!, award winning pepperoni and house-made kimchi. Bertha’s are known for their innovative toppings, with the smoked potato, miso mayonnaise & black garlic vinaigrette Umami Bomb now being a Bristol staple. How's that for vegetarian opulence? With gluten-free bases and plenty of vegan pizzas on the menu everyone’s happy.
All ice cream and desserts are made in-house, you’ll find classic tiramisu, cherry drenched dark chocolate sorbet along with their notorious malteaser ice cream.
As for drinks, they're keeping it local with Bristol beer on draught and more local ciders & beers in cans. Along with excellent value wines they have a classic list of cocktails and house-made drinks like kombucha.
Keeping it real from day one, Bertha's is where to go for great pizza in a laid-back atmosphere. Oh Bertha, how can we ever thank you?
