Ever since his first foray in the foodie world back in 1999, Dom Taylor has been whipping up gastronomical eats inspired by his Caribbean background, extensive travel and the vegan way of life. He has found a new audience at Fourteen/87, a glitzy restaurant and bar in Catford. Its lively atmosphere goes hand in hand with Taylor's soulful food and you'll be there long after you've wiped the plate clean.

If you want to start vegan, opt for the kidney bean and chickpea hummus or the jackfruit tempura. There are also delicately flavoured fishcakes and jerk chicken skewers to get the ball rolling.

Continue with the vegan sweet potato and black eye bean curry or smoky aubergine fritters with black quinoa. Alternatively, try some elevated, meaty fast-food, like the southern fried chicken breast burger or house cheeseburger. And straight from Taylor's childhood is Mama's fried chicken; if that isn't authenticity on a plate, we don't know what is!
